Around the Kristbergsattel there are beautiful views of the Klostertal – or Cloister Valley which neighbours on the Montafon, respectively, the Silbertal.  The Klostertal stretches from the Arlberg to Bludenz.  The valley is an important connection between the east and the west and is principally the only connection between Vorarlberg and the rest of Austria that can be travelled all year long.  The historical importance can be seen in the street-like settling of the area.   The Arlberg Railway shapes the landscape in that it blends in excellently with the countryside.
