The LOCCATA project is part of the European Satellite programme, GALILEO and deals with a pilot application of GALILEO data.  It is the implementation of a prototype that allows experts and tourists to access location based data.  The development of the project took place in 2006. The prototype is made up of an internet based content management system and software on a mobile terminal which supplies the available data on the basis of satellite navigation data at exact location points.  The substance of the project is the development of a system solution and the preparation of pilot data.  At the end of the project, location based information for 4-8 hiking trails in the Montafon have been prepared and are available for demonstration.  The results can be used free of charge by guests and for specialised excursions.
