Description of the Route
Welcome to the Litz River Walkabout in the community of Schruns. We will start our hike at the Schruns train station and walk past the traffic circle in the direction of Silbertal. After about 200 meters, we will cross the Litz River Bridge. The street between the “Fitsch Haus” and the Litz chapel leads to Bartholomaeberg. After about another 300 meters you will come to a turn-off to a footpath that goes in the direction of the Cloister Gauenstein and the settlement Kaltenbrunnen which are points of interest on our hike. Once past the cloister we will come to the view point Landschrofen with its magnificent view of Tschagguns and the municipality of Gantschier. In Kaltenbrunnen you can take the Montafon train back to Schruns if you want to. Otherwise we will walk along the Ill path and the Litz promenade back to the centre of Schruns. The hike takes about one and a half hours and is suitable for the whole family. During the hike you will receive information about the history of the region as well as information about the cultural landscape and geological features. Have a good time!
