Protective Blessings
The Night Folk was often heard at the Mustergiel Brook. One night a young man by the name of Tagwercher and who was a little tipsy, crossed the brook while the Night Folk passed by, playing their music. The drunken young man made a sarcastic remark to which a voice answered: “It’s a good thing your mother blessed you this morning otherwise you’d be shredded up like chaff in the sun!” It is said that from that day on the man never drank too much again.1 2 Beitl 1982: 257 AudiofileP12-1_Protective Blessings.mp3 |
