The following information is about the surrounding mountains of the Rätikon with explanations about several peaks, as well as information about the geological structure of the mountains in the complex transition zone from the Central to the Eastern Alps. Your present location is exactly on the transition from the Silvretta Crystalline to overlying sedimentary rocks of the Northern Calcareous Alps. Continuing east, you can take a shortcut directly to the Knappagruoba.
