History of the village

Agriculture and the hauling trade and Alpine farming, seasonal work in foreign countries, tourism and the Ill Power Plants are the defining factors of the last 500 years. Gaschurn has the largest expanse of land in the state (176 m²) and the highest mountain in Vorarlberg – the Piz Buin at 3,312 meters.
