The Danger of Water

As beneficial as water can be for us, it can also be dangerous.  The large catchment areas of the Gampadel and Rasfei Brooks become high risk areas during heavy rains and when the snow starts melting.  The brooks can become raging torrents within minutes.  Federal, state and municipal funds have provided dams, barriers and barricades during the past few decades to try to tame the courses of the rivers.  Besides the annual service, further protection constructions are necessary to keep the populated area around Tschagguns safe.
